Design process

The ability to identify forthcoming trends is the basis of all fashion companies. Our designers and purchasers are therefore found where new trends are being created and often on inspirational journeys. All impressions are collected into a number of guidelines which steer our collections. The guidelines serve as a starting point for the designers' work and offer examples of product types, silhouettes, colours and qualities.

Our design department is the core of Gina Tricot and our garment production unit. The result can be seen in our stores – brand new fashion that reflects current trends.

Each year many thousands of newly designed garments grace the shelves in our stores. Subtle intuition is required to offer a wide product range. Gina Tricot's hallmark garments are tops that are designed in seasonal colours and silhouettes. These garments have been with us for a long time and in large volumes. The garments in our lines offering the highest level of fashion are the exact opposite and sometimes sell out after just a few days in the stores.

Extensive planning is required to ensure that the correct garments in the latest trends are found in the stores at the right time. For each order placed a lead time decision is made at the same time. Standard goods in large quantities require production runs with longer lead times than short-series high-fashion garments. Our unique collections can be found in the stores barely two weeks after the designer has created them.
