the accord on fire and building safety in bangladesh
Gina Tricot was one of the first companies to sign the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh ("the Accord"). The agreement results from the desire to create safer factories in the Bangladeshi clothing industry. The need for doing so became painfully clear following the 2013 Rana Plaza catastrophe in the capital city, Dhaka, when a factory building collapsed and 1,129 workers lost their lives. Gina Tricot was not doing any business with this factory.
Through the Accord and together with our suppliers, we are committed to improving industry buildings as well as fire and electrical safety in the factories.
