climate and water

According to Mistra Future Fashion, 80 % of textiles’ negative environmental impact comes from the production chain. This means that as a brand, we have great responsibility to reduce this impact, and apply the best and most environmentally friendly techniques in production that are available to us. If we look more closely at production, we see that water-based processes have the greatest impact on the climate. This aspect of manufacturing not only affects the climate, through greenhouse gas emissions, but also requires significant consumption of water and chemicals.

Within the framework for our overall climate efforts, Gina Tricot is a member of the Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA). This platform allows Swedish textile companies and organisations to gain insight into our climate impact and share best practice to manage it.

We must examine our impact throughout the value chain and work hard to minimise the climate impact of our entire operation.
