Petite Jeans
Petite Jeans for Women – the Right Length for Shorter Legs
Tired of jeans bunching at the ankles or needing to be taken up? Petite jeans are designed with a shorter leg length to create a better-proportioned fit for a shorter frame. At Gina Tricot, you'll find petite jeans for women in several of our popular fits – from straight and wide-leg styles to high-waisted petite jeans and petite flare jeans. You get the same denim look and silhouette, but with a length designed for shorter legs.
What Are Petite Jeans?
Petite jeans are designed with proportions and, above all, a leg length suited to shorter women. Our petite styles have an inseam of approximately 78 cm and, as a general guideline, are designed for those around 158–164 cm tall. However, this is a recommendation rather than a rule – two people of the same height can have very different leg lengths, and the fit also varies between different jeans styles.
To find jeans for shorter legs that fit the way you want, we recommend measuring your own inseam and comparing it with the inseam measurement listed for the style. You can also use our size guide when choosing your size. This way, you can base your choice on your own proportions rather than your overall height alone.
How to Measure the Inseam of Jeans
The inseam is measured from the crotch along the inside of the leg down to the point where you want your jeans to end. An easy way to measure is to take a pair of jeans that already has the right length, lay them flat and measure the inside seam from the crotch to the hem. Then compare the measurement with the product information for the petite jeans you're interested in.
Also consider the fit you choose. Petite flare jeans, for example, may be designed to fall further over the shoe, while straight or slimmer styles may have a different intended length. Both the style's inseam and how you want your jeans to fit are therefore important when choosing.
Find the Right Fit Among Petite Jeans
Petite is about length – it doesn't mean you have to choose a particular jeans style. If you want to define the waist, choose high-waisted petite jeans and pair them with a fitted shirt, vest top or sculpting top. Flare jeans create a flared silhouette, while straight and wide-leg jeans offer completely different proportions and styling options.
Pair them with trainers for a relaxed everyday look, boots on cooler days or heels when you want to switch up the look. Explore Gina Tricot's petite jeans and find a style that suits both your style and leg length – without unnecessary extra centimetres at the hem.
